What is Applied Kinesiology?

Applied Kinesiology (AK) was founded and developed by Chiropractor Dr. George J. Goodheart, Jr.

Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a system that evaluates the structural, chemical and mental aspects of health using manual muscle testing, range of motion and other standard methods of diagnosis.

The practitioner using AK methods finds unbalanced muscles and determines why that muscle is not functioning properly.  The practitioner offers a treatment that will restore the functionality of the muscles.

By evaluating the structural, chemical and mental aspects of health we can then move towards the cause of the problem.  These three elements interact with each other, for example: Chronic back pain (Structure) leads to Chronic inflammatory process (Chemical imbalances) that lead to fatigue, depression and/or anxiety (Mental aspect).

Treatments may involve specific joint mobilization, various myofascial therapies, cranial techniques, meridian and acupressure modalities.  Treatments may also include clinical nutritional, dietary management, evaluation of environment irritants, various reflex procedures and restoration of muscle function.
